February Favorites

Let’s go to my February Favorites! I love doing a monthly roundup of my top 5 favorite items from the previous month and sometimes I try to include products I didn’t love as well. I truly only put items in my favorites if I have used them multiple times or would re-purchase. Here is a list of my January favorites here.

Quince Cashmere Sweaters

I have mentioned Quince sweaters numerous times on my TikTok page as I commonly wear them as layering pieces or loungewear. I honestly didn’t believe that you could buy a good quality cashmere sweater between $50-100. Keep in mind there is a special way to take care of cashmere sweaters with guidance on their website:

  • Lesson 1: No machines, please. This lovely fabric should only be washed by hand with cold water, as the fabric becomes fragile when wet. Using a mild soap or detergent is also recommended, and letting it air dry is vital to its shape and durability.
  • Lesson 2: Say no to fabric softener. A little known fact is that cashmere becomes softer as time goes by. Chemical softeners can damage the fabric and limit its durability, so be sure to keep it simple with the washing routine.
  • Lesson 3: Wash a little, wear a lot. Another day, the same outfit! Because of its breathable nature, cashmere can be aired out for use the next day.. and remain fresh for a little while longer.

I have worn most of my sweaters between 6-8 times before I hand wash them! Cashmere sweaters naturally pill so I would recommend getting a cashmere comb.

Fiaschetteria Pistoia and Juliette Gelato Cafe

Fiaschetteria Pistoia has two locations in NYC and is super charming. We didn’t have a reservation so we just waited in line outside for about 15-20 minutes. The inside reminds me of a very rustic authentic restaurant cooking up simple Italian food packed with flavor. We started with the artichoke salad and then I got the tagliatella tartufo since I don’t eat meat. Is it better than the food I had in Tuscany? No. I will say the food was fresh, the server was very nice, and it did taste very delicious when you need a pasta fix. I didn’t see any gluten free pasta options so I won’t be brining my husband here but I will go back with friends! Across the street, Juliette Gelato had the best vegan gelato I have ever tasted. Normally I would cringe at the fact of a “vegan gelato” but it tasted like a whipped brownie batter and I was here for it.

Suit Vest Style

The suit vest has become super popular this year! I find vests to be really transitional throughout the seasons so I have purchased one from H&M. In early spring when it’s chilly outside I plan on wear a blouse or long sleeve top underneath. The other day I actually wore my vest open with a cashmere sweater underneath. You can obviously buy a whole suit especially for work then split into more casual outfits to get more wear out of the suit.

AG Jeans Outlet

I love AG jeans and I just realized there is an online outlet with the same style I have bought for full price! It seems as though they have all the typical styles in store with slightly different shades. To me, if the style is the same I don’t care if it one shade different from the “current season.” I really like the Ex-Boyfriend Slim jeans and found them for $99 after paying over $225. When I was shopping at Woodbury Outlet Mall they did say you can bring the denim to the AG store for alteration. Originally they told me this was a free service, but when I went to the AG store you have to pay $15 for alterations if you buy from the outlet.

IGK Dry Shampoo

february favorites

Good dry shampoo is hard to come by because most are super flaky and don’t blend in properly with brunette hair. I used Moroccon oil for dark hair for years but I almost felt that it made my hair look more greasy. I recently was at Ulta and picked up the IGK dry shampoo and it works really well! My hair becomes more textured and volumized after using the product. This is the only dry shampoo where I feel like I can go 2-3 days without washing my hair.
