Designer Dupes: Save or Splurge

When I purchase designer items I make sure the pieces are timeless so I can wear them over the decades. There are always new trends popping up especially now with huge social media influencers. Unfortunately the pieces come at significant cost. You have to decide if you want to save or splurge on an item. In addition, some of the items will likely come in with a bang, sell out very quickly, then fizzle out. I put together some of the items I have personally seen and tagged some great dupes for a much lower price tag.

Mach & Mach

Mach & Mach shoes are undeniably sparkly and will grab the attention of anyone, but with the price tag of over $1000 I don’t think I could wear them enough in my daily life to justify the splurge. Below some lower cost options are linked but don’t be disappointed that some are sold out. Just put in your name to alert you when the shoes are back in stock! Trust me, you will want to save on this shoe trend.

Soru Jewelry

Soru is a UK based brand so perhaps many have not heard of this fashion jewelry business. I am in love with almost every piece on their website. They have the most unique designs and it is very high quality. Their jewelry makes the most fabulous gift ideas. I don’t like wearing expensive jewelry going to work in case it falls off or gets stuck on my mask. Although, I would encourage supporting this brand I did find a piece that you can casually wear out and about. When I am buying jewelry, I typically splurge on fine jewelry and save on fashion pieces. I don’t like spending thousands of dollars on fashion jewelry like Chanel as it isn’t worth it for plastic.

Bottega Veneta

Bottega Veneta makes the most timeless pieces, but honestly it is very expensive due to the quality of their leather. I have seen the leather belt wrapped around coats, chunky sweaters, and sweater dresses. It really adds an edgy element to the look while giving the illusion of a slim waist. Etsy had the best designer dupe available for this belt. I am sure you will start seeing many more copies of this belt for the Fall and Winter seasons.

Quilted Coats

Quilted coats are a HUGE trend right now. There are so many cute styles and colors available. You will note that the expensive options are on a website called, Net-a-Porter. I have been obsessed with this website for a decade although everything is extremely expensive. I use their New Arrivals page to see new designer trends. Eventually the popular items do trickle down in some form to fast fashion brands.

Sherling Coats

Sherling coats, if real, can cost thousands of dollars. There are so many beautiful coats and styles available right now at any price range. Even though some of these coats seem simple, they really make a great statement look when combined with a scarf and jeans. The expensive options below are typically real shearling or a designer jacket. I wanted to combine some looks-for-less or designer dupes so you can get the look.
