I love the concept of the paper bag waist pants. I actually never tried them on before the new lace J. Crew pants that I ordered. When I wear this style of pants I make sure to tuck in a more form fitting shirt with the option of adding a cropped jacket or mid length coat over the outfit. I feel as though the top needs to hug the body a little more since the pants are generally a lose-appearing fit. I find this style of pants to be a difficult fit though. I actually order 3 sizes of pants all the time because I never know if the pants will run small, large, or true to size. Also, if you think the pant is more of an investment piece, get them tailored to fit you perfectly. I get my pants tailored all the time for about $15. Also with my Nordstrom card, I get a tailoring credit every year for the items I buy so that is definitely a perk. If anyone would like me to style some outfits with this type of pant in addition to the ones below please let me know!
