Affordable Gift Guide: My Personal Favorites

I wanted to put together a top 10 gift guide for affordable options for the holiday season. Affordability is relative to everyone so I will try my best to come with ideas that are a broad range of prices. I think it is important to remember that it is the thought that counts! This sounds cliche but not everyone can buy thousands of dollars worth of gifts this year. If you have a different budget that you want to stick to please let me know and I can help make a list!

Homemade Baked Good in a Tin + Family Recipe

gift guide

I made beautiful Christmas cookie tins a couple of years ago for all of my coworkers with all of my favorite recipes. I did a blog post on some of my recipes you can see here. You can buy tins on Amazon (option 1, option 2, option 3), Target, or Walmart. As an extra special touch you can attach a handwritten or typed family recipe on top of the tin. If you need some new recipe ideas you can visit my mom’s new Instagram account that is full of appetizer, entree, and dessert recipes. Homemade recipes should always be the start of a gift guide.

Kodak Ultra Mini Portable Projector, $179.99

I find this mini projector to be quite amazing I may have to order it myself for the bedroom. It has HD video and imaging in the palm of your hand with the Small DLP Pocket Projector from KODAK. The projector includes a 3.5mm input and integrated HDMI, USB and MicroSD hookups. Simply connect your PC, Mac, cable box, gaming console or HDMI video player without the hassle of complicated buttons and menu screens. There are now so many great options for small projectors so let me know which one is your favorite.

One Year Subscription to Favorite Hobby or Item, Varied Pricing

Beauty Pie: I bet many people have not heard of this online membership beauty brand called Beauty Pie. Recently, I started my membership in March 2023 after reading about the company and products. When Marcia Kilgore created Beauty Pie, it was to empower people to demand more out of life, starting with fairer prices for their high-quality Swiss moisturizers and deluxe Italian lipsticks. All new suppliers undergo a strict ‘due diligence’ process, which includes an audit of their supply chain ethics, and a commitment to our code of conduct and anti-bribery policies. All products are cruelty free. The company buys large volumes of product and cuts out the middleman to decrease the price to consumers. I completed a blog post earlier this year with my top 5 favorite products.

Other great subscriptions that I read about include:

  • Trade: Fresh, ethically-sourced coffee from local roasters. ($15.75-$19.50 per bag)
  • Cocktail Courier: Get a personalized Cocktail Courier Kit , with everything you need to make delicious drinks! Each kit ranges between $39.99 (no alcohol) and $64.99 (with alcohol) and serves 6-8 people.
  • Platterful: This charcutterie service sends loads of items to your home every month. This service even has gluten free and vegan options for those with dietary restrictions.
  • Scentbird: The subscription is for all the perfume and cologne lovers out there! You get to pick a new scent every month even the super expensive ones without the commitment of a full bottle. Personally I like to wear them for a couple of times before I commit to a larger bottle.

Nespresso Coffee Machine and Milk Frother, $75-$200

I say this every year, I highly recommend converting over from your Keurig machine to a Nespresso machine. Last year I bought the De’Longhi x Nespresso machine as well as the frother. I make my matcha latte in the frother that turns out perfect every time.

New Stationary for 2024, $10-$100

Even with all the technology in the world, there are still some of us who love writing our schedules down on paper. I love investing in stationary especially customized letterhead and my 2024 planner. My planner contains all my events, budget, and notes. I frequently go back through my planner to make sure I haven’t forgotten anything. This would be a great gift if you know someone who isn’t tech savvy or appreciates the old school pen and paper. I’ve gotten some wonderful and unique stationary on Etsy.

Cozy Items: Fancy Robe, Pajamas, Cashmere Socks, $30-$150

I don’t know why people overlook this category every year. When I was little I used to get my mom the pajama sets and robes from Victoria’s Secret. These items are actually useful for people all year long. Also, I really love investing in nice socks for lounging around the house to keep my feet warm. I know cashmere socks sound super fancy but they are breathable and warm at the same time. Here are some links to great pajamas (option 1, option 2, option 3, option 4, option 5) , socks (option 1, option 2, option 3), and robes (option 1, option 2) .

Gift Basket with Kitchen Gadgets, $5-$30

My mom literally loves cooking gadgets. Amazon has some very useful products for people who love to cook!

Ember Heated Cup, $110-130

gift guide

Ember was created to solve a simple, yet universal problem for coffee and tea drinkers. It all came from a disappointing, room-temperature cup of coffee and has grown into an elevated hot beverage experience. The company came out with Ember Cup 2.0 with a longer lasting battery. The updated coffee mug has an extended battery life keeps your drink at your preferred temperature for up to 80 minutes on a full charge. The heated cup pairs with the Ember app to customize pre-sets.

Nori Press, ~$100

This efficient, user friendly iron applies direct heat and pressure to remove unwanted wrinkles; Nori can iron or steam your clothes with six heat fabric settings and elongated arms that will effortlessly reach the center of clothes and the pointed tip will target small areas. This compact iron & steamer takes up minimal space in any home; Easily store and access the 1.4 pounds, 14-inch device without using a heavy and clunky ironing board.

Massage Gun, starting at $50-$300

If you have a workout or runner person in your family these massage guns (Option 1, Option 2, Option 3) are a fabulous idea! They do range in price so you can choose how much you want to spend. The deep tissue massagers help with different muscle groups that can reduce muscle stiffness and soreness after exercise, but also promotes blood circulation and alleviates fatigue.
