Practical Holiday Gift Guide

For the holidays this year it is best to start early on purchasing gifts. I have noticed very significant delays when I try to order clothing and jewelry items. I try to be somewhat practical when it comes to purchasing gifts as I try to be thoughtful and think what someone would use. I put together a practical Holiday Gift Guide of the top 5 items I use frequently.

Hair Products

Hair products can be very expensive so it is a nice gift idea for the holidays. I would highly recommend this T3 Curling Iron or the Volumizing Hot Rollers set. To complete your holiday gift, you can pair the hot tools with hair care sprays! I personally own all of these products and the teasing comb with the rollers provides me with a salon style look. These items can make a great gift basket for a unique gift that can easily translate into everyday life.

Nespresso Machine

If there is one items I can’t live with everyday it would be my Vertuo Nespresso machine. It honestly makes the most frothy delicious coffee very quickly. The milk frother that comes with most machines at Bloomingdales is the best for frothing your creamer, making lattes, or hot chocolate quickly. The machine uses capsule-specific brewing with barcode reading can make 5-, 8-, and 14-oz coffee and 1.35 and 2.7 oz espresso. This is the perfect items for a holiday gift guide as it lasts way over 5 years.

Loungewear

As soon as I get home from work every day I throw on my loungewear. I also wear comfortable clothing all weekend so it’s a plus when I can make a cute outfit. I get most of my loungewear from Fabletics, Alo Yoga, and Sweaty Betty. I also discovered a brand called Varley which has fabulous sets. Fabletics currently has 80% and the famous 2 for $24 leggings that I love running in.

Rainboots

About 5 years ago, my mom and sister bought me the Hunter boots for Christmas. I wear them all year long so I really get my money’s worth. In the fall and winter, I put the boot socks on to keep my feet warm.

Small Designer Items (Less than $500)

Designer items are only getting more and more expensive with price increases multiple time per year. I find that small accessories can have a huge impact on your outfit. For example, you can wear a designer scarf, winter accessories, or a piece of fashion jewelry to elevate your look. Never feel pressured though to buy things that are “designer” as you can find similar accessories at much lower price points. Louis Vuitton has a lot of items that can directly be ordered online instead of having to wait in lines at the store.
